Hello All,
North Carolina Wing Ranger School will host a Summer SAR School at Morrow Mountain State Park 23-30 July 2016. The goal of the school is to advance and train ground SAR responders to an operational level exceeding standard CAP ground teams. The curriculum will compose information from three different programs rolled into an eight day school, NASAR Fundamentals of Search and Rescue, CAP Ground Team Member Level 2&1, and Ranger skills from the Hawk Mountain Ranger Program. We have limited space for this year’s school and will be limited to 60 students and a limited number of IMT students to serve as part of the staff with on the job training.
Upon completion of the weeks training students will take the NASAR SAR Tech 2 exam with practical stations. Those who pass this examination will receive their NASAR certification which they can take with them even outside of CAP. In addition to the NASAR certification, students should also be able to get most if not all of Ground Team 2 & 1 completed as well.
Requirements to attend: Be a Cadet or Senior Member in good standing, Completed CAP Ground Team Member Level 3, attended Summer Encampment(Cadets), Physical Fitness Level 1, and academically strong. This school is as much about leadership and teamwork as it is search and rescue.
APPLICATION PROCESS FOR STUDENTS: Submit a CAPF31, 160, 161, and 163 completed including commanders and parental signature(for Cadets) with a check or money order for
$350 made payable to North Carolina Wing CAP.

Students will receive a copy in the NASAR Fundamentals of search& rescue book, CAP Ground team Manual, t shirt, NASAR Certification(passing test is required), 2 hot meals(breakfast and dinner) and MRE’s for lunch.
