Wings of Freedom Tour

Date: October 1922, 2017
Unit: NORTH CAROLINA WING HQ
Location: C DOT Aviation Division @ RDU, 1050 Meridian Drive, Morrisville, NC
POC:

The Wings of Freedom Tour is coming to Raleigh NEXT WEEKEND (October 19-22) and CAP needs your help!

This event will display multiple WWII-era aircraft, including the B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell, and a P-51D Mustang.  The tour, put on by The Collings Foundation, displays these aircraft at over 100 airports around the country each year to honor the people who built, maintained, and flew them.  (Click here for an article on the NCDOT.gov website.)

CAP will have an aircraft and recruiting booth on display during the event, and we need YOUR help!  If this event turns out similar to the Hurricane Awareness Day held earlier in the year... it's going to be PACKED!

WHO: Any CAP member - seniors and cadets

WHERE: NC DOT Aviation Division @ RDU, 1050 Meridian Drive, Morrisville, NC

WHEN:
Thursday: 2PM - 4PM (primarily set-up, although the public will be allowed in)

Please contact 1st Lt Alex Ramos @ alex.ramos9@gmail.com with the date(s)/time(s) you are interested in assisting with recruiting.

ANYTHING ELSE?
  • Please complete your Aircraft Ground Handling Training in eServices.  We are still unsure of staffing levels, so all members in attendance should be prepared if asked to assist with moving our aircraft.
  • If you plan on attending for a full day (or days), please come prepared with a sack lunch.  There has been no word yet on food provided for volunteers, and it's better to be safe than sorry!
Please contact me directly with any questions!
