Wing Web and EMail Server Restored to Service

Sites running on backup servers

6/28/2009–Raleigh, NC–The web and email server used to support the Wing, which suffered catastrophic hardware failure during a major storm in Raleigh in the early morning hours of June 16, have been restored to operation.  Operation has been restored using backup hardware which will remain in place pending the installation of a new server.

This restoration is phase I of a multi-phase restructuring. Phase II will result in a brand new server being deployed, as well as failover contingencies being deployed at Wing HQ.

The restoration of service includes the paperless wing, general wing website and email service. 

More information will be passed along via the unit commanders and at the Commanders Call, 11 July 2009 to be held at Wing HQ.
