Raleigh-Wake and Elizabeth City Composite Squadrons participate in First Flight Anniversary

12/24/2014–– On Wednesday December 17, 2014, the First Flight Society inducted Col Mary Feik into the Paul E Garber First Flight Shrine for her significant contributions to aviation throughout her lifetime.  As part of the ceremony multiple aircraft participated in a flyover of the Wright Brothers Monument including a Civil Air Patrol Cessna 172 from the Elizabeth City Composite Squadron piloted by Lt Col Dion Viventi and Major Jim Elliot.

After the flyover was completed, the induction ceremony began by the Raleigh-Wake Composite Squadron cadet color guard posting the colors in front of an audience of over 100 people.  The audience included the current National Commander, Maj Gen Vazquez and the previous National Commander and member of the First Flight Society Board of Directors, Maj Gen Wheless.

Finally, during the annual meeting of the First Flight Society, Lt Col Viventi was nominated and elected to the Board of Directors for a three year term.

Congratulations to both Col Feik and Lt Col Viventi.
