7/4/2015––Independence Day has traditionally been Military Appreciation Day at Carowinds Theme Park, in Charlotte NC.  The Iredell Composite SAR Devil Squadron Color guard was on hand this year for the Presentation of Colors during the opening ceremony.

The Color Guard, under the direction of Squadron Commander LTC Rick Rowan and Leadership Officer SM Brett Marr delivered an outstanding performance.  Led byC/CMSgt Bretlyn Marr, the Color Guard was made up of C/SSgt Grant Geis, C/CMSgt Justin Smith, C/MSgt Jeb Ayscue, C/Amn Hannah Huntington, C/SMSgt Kevin King, and C/Amn Trinity Ayscue.

This was not the first performance for all the Cadets in the Color Guard, but it was the first performance for them as a group.  The Cadets formed up near the entrance of the park and marched the colors over the entrance bridge to the square.  The National Anthem was played by a musical ensemble from Carowinds.

After the presentation the Cadets visited with Members of the USO, and then changed into civies and were treated as guests of Carowinds, spending the rest of the afternoon and early evening enjoying the park.
