8/31/2015–

The North Carolina Wing Civil Air Patrol concluded a successful weekend of training and professional development at headquarters in Burlington, NC on August 30, 2015. The weekend consisted of the Squadron Leadership Schools (SLS) and the Corporate Learning Course (CLC), both of which would help members advance in their CAP careers.

Planning and preparation for the professional development weekend began almost a month ago with 1st Lt Chad Hooper, Asst. Wing Professional Development Officer serving as the project officer.  Lt Col Pete Bohler served as the Director of the SLS and Lt Col Conrad D'Cruz served as the Director of the CLC.

The SLS graduated a total of nineteen members and the CLC graduated a total of seventeen members.  Lt Hooper thanked the instructors and said, "I believe our work has made a positive impression on these 36 individuals and has prepared them to take on greater responsibilities in our organization."

Maj Jason Bailey, NC Wing Vice Commander commended the members who took the time to attend the Professional Development weekend and for taking steps to advance in their CAP career.

Maj Bailey encouraged the graduates to take what they learned back to their units and put it into practice. He also encouraged them to mentor members in their units and help them advance in their CAP careers and make their units stronger and more effective.

Maj Bailey emphasized that he would review each and every critique submitted by the students as part of the after action review and would make the necessary changes and improvements for future NC Wing training programs.
