Winston-Salem Composite Squadron has exciting awards evening

3/9/2018––NC-082 held its annual Dining Out event on Friday, 16 February 2018, at the Masonic Center in Winston-Salem.  A sit-down style dinner was prepared by KevMark Catering for all in attendance. The NC Wing Commander, Col R. Jason Bailey, presented most of the evening's awards along with the Winston-Salem Composite Squadron commander, Lt Col Matthew Urbanek.

Representative Julia C. Howard of the North Carolina General Assembly and Col Bailey presented C/Col Nathan Bouffard with his Spaatz Award. Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) representative Robynn Rutledge presented the DAR Award to C/CMSgt Daniel Holladay. Other awards presented were:  
 
VFW NCO of the Year Award - C/CMSgt Joshua Brody
 
VFW Officer of the Year Award - C/Maj Cody Matthews
 
AFA Sergeants Association NCO of the Year Award – C/CMSgt Alexandra Mallison
 
AFA Officer of the Year Award – C/Col Nathan Bouffard
 
Promotions and Awards included thirteen Phase I promotions and awards, five Phase II promotions, one Phase IV promotion and one Spaatz Award.  
 
The Color Guard was also recognized, as were the two 2016-2017 squadron CyberPatriot teams.
 
SM Michael Cheston was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
 
Maj John Eller earned the Grover Loening Award.
