C/Capt Noah Stange and Capt Daniel Donahue complete Private Pilot Glider check rides

11/19/2017–LOUISBURG, NC–Saturday, 18 November 2017, was another big day in the life of the NC Wing Glider Program. C/Capt Noah Stange and Capt Daniel Donahue (a Spaatz recipient who recently turned 21) both successfully completed Private Pilot Glider check rides with DPE Pete Barber from the Washington FSDO, flying MERLIN 09.  

In the case of Capt Donahue this was an add-on to his existing Private Pilot ASEL certificate. Both men attended CAP Glder Academies: C/Capt Stange attended the Texas academy and Capt Donahue attended Mattoon.  

C/Capt Stange was the first of the two to solo in the glider this summer and both completed the required training flying with two of the NC Wing’s instructors: Capt Steve Merritt and Capt John Styers.
