Packing Guide

The embedded PDF is a recommended packing guide for the SAR Ready pack.  It is designed to sustain the individual on a search operation for up to 24 hours without refit or resupply.  This is not a packing list for a weekend training event.  This is a guide for your SAR ready pack and what it should contain; it is the same guide used by organizations that issue nationally recognized credentials and has been tailored to CAP use.  When you see "24 Hour Pack" on an event packing list, this is your guide to what that pack should contain.

Your "72 hour" or base camp gear should include a sleeping bag, change of uniform, your cold or hot or wet weather uniform accessories, socks, undergarments, personal hygeine items and non-perishable snacks as desired.  Base camp gear is terrain and mission dependent so you may want to consider a personal tent or shelter if conditions warrant it.
